Where the Sidewalk Ends

You have to get this book and don't lose it.
The Loser
Mama said I'd lose my head If it wasn't fastened on. Today I guess it wasn't 'Cause while playing with my cousin It fell off and rolled away And now its gone.
And I can't look for it 'Cause my eyes are in it, And I can't call to it 'Cause my mouth is on it (Couldn't hear me anyway 'Cause my ears are on it), Can't even think about it 'Cause my brain is in it. So I guess I'll sit down On this rock And rest for just a minute…

Smoking Outside

Anchorage is kind to smokers and non-smokers alike. Providing butt cans is a nice touch.

Joined The Anchorage YMCA

Checked out the saltwater lap pool Monday night. Paid $8 for a day pass before deciding to join today when my unenjoyment check hit the bank. $45 to join and a monthly fee of $45.
I'm not an underwater swimmer. I skim across the water neck up. So far I have not been splashed or dunked. No saltwater has gotton in my eyes...yet.
That wooden box next to the pool is a bunya.

Sweet Freddie

Since I'm living in Anchorage I get to see my grand-nephew Freddie more often. He's the little guy on the right. On Christmas I took a video of him jamming on the piano with Tom, a great jazz piano player. Turns out its too big to upload to YouTube or blogger. If anyone knows of good down sizer of a 259 MB AVI Video Format thats 2:31 long please let me know. I would love to show it to you. The kids got talent!

Sunday Night Out

Ventured to downtown Anchorage tonight to the Pacific Arts Center to see the James Cotton Blues Band.

Humpy's is right across the street. Perfect spot for a burger & brew before the concert.

The front band was the Gordon Tentree Trio minus the big bass player. This was their last show before heading home to Whitehorse, Yukon Territory after a 25 US city tour.

Outside, smoking, I met the Gordon Tentree Trio (-1 ) and got my picture taken with them.

Great live music in Anchortown tonight!

Whoof Arted

The busts are random bronze statues.
Whoof Arted tells what Anchorage has been like lately.
I haven't left the house except for essentials. Beer, pot and cigs.

Sliver of a Moon

New Years Eve moon out the front door of my cabin apartment. I plan on checking out of here tomorrow. My landlord was kind enough to let me stay over a couple of days. The place is clean and I'm leaving it better than I found it so I should get my deposit back.

North to Alaska!
