August Morning

This was the sunrise Tuesday morning around 5am. Then turning around towards Mt. Redoubt it looked like below.

The fireweed is getting closer to full bloom.

River Scenes

That is Mt. Redoubt in the distance. The volcano you can see directly across from the lodge.

This puppy was having too much fun on the river.

This was a spawned out king salmon still swimming up the river to die at his place of birth.

Do Not Wash

Mt. Redoubt showing through the clouds.

This guest was sporting his lucky fishing shirt today. Another nice group of fisherpeople staying at the lodge from Colorado, Washington state, California and St. Louis. Happy to be catching halibut, Kings and Sockeye salmon.

Good time of year to be in Alaska.

Moose Mountain

Thats Mt. Redoubt across Cook Inlet and a moose that made a visit to the lodge today.

Check out the hooves of this cow moose. Kind of elfy looking. I've heard about this happening to urban moose. From walking on pavement they think.

Cook Inlet Boat Launchers

This is how they launch halibut fishing boats in Cook Inlet...with loaders. I am pretty sure that is Mt. Augustine in the background. Took these pictures from the beach near the Anchor River.

Back in Action

My Norton anti-virus subscription ran out and prevented me from going on-line. Sounds to me like Norton is the virus. With no bank account and not being able to go on-line I went to Walmart and bought Norton and woolah! Back on-line!

Took this picture the other day, out the window, downstairs at the lodge. Its always an awesome day when you can see what Mt. Redoubt, an active volcano, is doing.

FishTaxi and the Volcano

Mt Redoubt ~ Easter Sunday

I think I will go down to the Kenai and get closer to the action.

Camping on the Rim of Fire soon.
