Carter Park

On Lake Lucille today.
Nice weather for the mallards to stop and enjoy the sunshine on their way south.

Jumped Ship

It was a fine time to leave Lake Lucille. Groundwater and sewer is seeping into the downstairs (where my bedroom was) and flooding. I hauled my stuff out and put it in a storage unit and am staying on a friends couch. I hated to jump ship but it was sinking and I wasn't the captain. I'm really going to miss Jefferson.

Ice Road Driving

Drove across Lake Lucille's ice road tonight. Found the lake access road and went for it.

Moosehead, Snow and Fire

It was a high of 35F after the sun burned through the overcast clouds. Too warm for beer so the Moosehead went into the snowbank. Later on it got too cold so lit a fire.
If it gets any better than this I'll be snowtanning soon!

Blue the Mule

Meet Blue, a mule and thats Peyote, the brown horse. Blue is stubborn as a mule. Good pack animal but you can ride him if you can show him whose boss.
Enjoying the valley and life on the lake. Starting a new life in the spring of things. Waking up to sunrises and falling asleep shortly after sunset. Thats all going to change tonight with daylight savings time going into effect. Spring ahead Alaska!

Musical Sunset

Officially moved out of my storage in Anchorage today. Ivan (my 1999 Toyota Sienna LE) handled what was left in one trip. Weather is cloudy and snow is predicted for the next couple of days.

Got back to Wasilla in time for yet another beautiful sunset on Lake Lucille.

Deck Shot

I am loving these long lingering sunsets. And they are just getting longer every night. The view from here is incredible. If I didn't have to get supplies or a job I'd never leave the driveway.

Home on the Lake

Got everything moved out of my room in Anchorage. Stopped by my storage unit and picked up my desktop. Low and behold there is a desk in my new room with a slide out keyboard tray. Cleaned my bathroom and made my bed. Thats Jefferson jumping on it. He's the small dog. Thatcher is bigger with the same coloring. Yes, she's named after Margaret and Jefferson after Thomas. Jefferson took to me right away. Thatcher is acting like her namesake. Its going to take a bit for her to warm up to me. Starting to feel at home and getting settled in. Overcast day with snow flurries and the wind is blowing off the lake. Nice and toasty inside though. I think I'm really gonna like my new digs.

Moving Again

Found a real cool place to live on a lake in Wasilla. Good deal, too. Free rent! Well, I have to keep the place clean, housesit and take care of the dogs when the owners away. I have the whole downstairs otherwise. Right on Lake Lucille!

The place has a hot tub, sauna and a greenhouse. Found it on Craigslist. Went through extensive interviews this past week and landed it tonight. Now I'll be looking for a real job in Wasilla.
Can't you see my paddleboat docked there this summer?
