12/12/12

With this one I used the Bob Ross contact paper trick. You cut the contact paper & place it on the paper with an oval shaped cut out. When finished with the painting you pull the contact paper off & woolah! Instant frame.

I'm calling this one 12/12/12 because it won't ever be 12/12/12 again!

Moose Mountain

Thats Mt. Redoubt across Cook Inlet and a moose that made a visit to the lodge today.

Check out the hooves of this cow moose. Kind of elfy looking. I've heard about this happening to urban moose. From walking on pavement they think.

Letting off some Steam

The clouds cleared this morning for a bit and showed a clear view of Mt. Redoubt. Looks like she was spewing some steam, too. The lodge has been busy and I'm getting in the swing of things again. I am happy to have help this year and Jimmie is very organized. The clients are catching fish and having a real good time. Lots of fathers and sons, of all ages, having the time of their lives catching fish, bringing it back to the lodge and grilling it. I make them breakfast and send them off with a lunch but they are on their own for dinner. Which is nice for me as well as for them and the local restaurants. I have not had a chance to go fishing yet but I'm sure I'll be able to wet a line soon!

Mount Hunter

View of the Alaska Range from Mile 69 Parks Highway. Denali (the Great One) is the mountain in the distance on the left. Mount Hunter (Begguya, means Child of Denali) is on the right. Mount Hunter is 8 miles closer in this picture so it looks bigger than Denali. The mountain range is over a hundred miles away.

On a Clear Day

Wasilla Lake today makes a good new logo photo. Fate has it's way once again and I'm now living in the semi-big city of Wasilla.

The boy is looking to net small fish that hang around the edge of the Lake.

Seven Sunrises

The sun is almost up over Sugarloaf! Its the mountain on the left. And its only the 18th of January. This is the time of year when we get 7 sunrises. The sun comes and goes through the mountains. Soon the sun will rise above Sugarloaf and this winter will be on its way to spring.
