Good Fishing Stories

There’s nothing like a dip netting trip to Chitina to spice up a marriage

News-Miner outdoors editor Tim Mowry, left, and wife, Kristan Kelly, show off some of the fruits of their dip netting labor at Chitina in this photo taken by another dip-netter.

What is fun is that Tim is related to me via Roger Mowry...1631...Rhode Island...Winthrop Fleet...I saw his name, emailed him a couple years ago, and discovered we were distant relatives and that his....I think ...aunt...lives just a few miles from me. We met..she was delightful...and even had a copy of "the book". Isn't the internet great!!!

By the "book", I meant the geneology book of the Mowry family. It was printed years ago, and we never got a copy. One of my sisters visited another newly discovered Mowry kin in Iowa a couple years ago and she too had a copy of the "book" which is long out of print.
I enjoy Tim's columns too...not sure if it's cause he writes well, or it's cause he's writing about Alaska. I think it's the latter:o)
