Wylie Rogers Named CHL Goalie for October!
ROGERS NAMED CHL GOALIE OF THE MONTH FOR OCTOBER
Wylie is playing goalie for the KillerBees in Texas. The second biggest state in the union after being born and raised in the biggest state. He made a name for himself in Alaska playing 4 years at UAF and receiving his college education in his home state. This dedicated athlete is going places. Course I am biased. He's my nephew who got me interested in hockey and becoming a lifetime member of the UAF Face-Off Club. Still listen to the Nanook games on the internet. As far as I could find out the KillerBees games are not broadcasted outside of the Rio Grande area. This is from the story:
BRING YOUR RADIO
Bring your radio to the game and tune in to 93.5 FM for an in-arena feed of the play-by-play broadcast on Real Country 102.1 FM.
Loving the press releases though.
WAY TO GO WYLIE!!!

CAWB Brunch
My last picture of food from Cold Ass Windy Bay!
Soon there will be pics of all the glacier silt swirling around Valdez that I thought was fog. Once my head clears up.

Fancy Doghouse
Spent all my smoke breaks out there. Took my logbook and penned while looking at the view. I believe in making your own conditions. I would write about what sounded good for dinner with what I had on hand. Stuff like that. I've kept logbooks from everywhere I go. Nothing like a brand new book with empty pages to fill up. Fun to look back on, too.

Chicken Spaghetti
Sounds horrible til you try it.
Edited to add recipe:
Boil spaghetti as usual
Cut up chicken breasts into bite size pieces and add to sauce below.
Open as many cans of cream of chicken, celery and mushrooms as needed to make a sauce to cover the noodles spread in bottom of a lasagne pan.
Top with grated cheese, mushrooms and black olives.
Bake an hour in a 350 degree oven.
Scoop out with big spoon. Serve with green salad and garlic bread.

Ginger Duck

I made this Ginger Duck one night in Cold Bay. I marinated the duck in soy sauce and fresh grated ginger for a couple of hours. It turned out yummy. I like the Ginger Duck at our local chinese restaurant and tried to duplicate it.

Snagged this pic from the Anchorage Daily News' Palin and Me gallery.
I'm home relaxing and unpacking. Its snowing slightly. Good day to stay put and burn a copy of my Cold Bay pictures on my laptop and upload them to my desktop. Sure feels good to be home.

Warthog Knife Sharpener
This thing has been my new best friend out here. I'm a terrible knife sharpener and this contraption works like a charm. A few swipes of the knife and I can cut anything. I am going to have to get one for myself now. WH Professional knife sharpener diamond knife sharpener ...
I've been taking lots of pictures and videos and have been messing around with Windows Movie Maker. When I get more time I will post them. In the meantime I'm still alive and working,,,thanks to the Warthog Knife Sharpener!
