Here is the deal. Once the Fireweed blooms to the top and goes to seed we have six weeks til winter. How it looks today we have two months. Give or take a few blooming days.
I've been calling this the never ending summer. Today it's cloudy but should burn off and hit 80. I just love it. Last night after dinner we sat in the shade, deck was too hot. And it's almost August...
Your blog is fab! We've linked to it on The Daily Yonder home page and today you're featured in a post there http://www.dailyyonder.com/fireweed-says-carpe-diem-alaskan as well as on Human Flower Project http://www.humanflowerproject.com/index.php/weblog/fireweed_countdown_to_winter/
I hope someday to get to Alaska and see the fireweed in bloom.
It was rather interesting for me to read this article. Thank you for it. I like such themes and everything connected to them. BTW, try to add some photos :).
